Evertjan van Roekel
Historian and jurist Evertjan van Roekel studied Dutch Law (With Merit) at Utrecht University and History (Cum Laude/With Distinction) at the University of Amsterdam. He is an all-round business professional with a diverse background and broad experience in mainly business and legal advisory, general management, business strategy, content creation, sales, marketing and communications. Evertjan is a Business Advisor at ClimateRock Renewable Investors (Nasdaq Listed) and commited to invest in world class renewable projects.
He believes it is important to contribute to solutions for the climate and energy challenges of the present and the future. Taking care of a sustainable society is not only necessary for an assured future, but it also offers excellent opportunities to innovate and significantly improve the quality of that society. The energy transition and the creation of a strong, circular economy are essential in this regard.
Evertjan is also a board member of the initiative Terra Fenomena. An experience in a building of breathtaking architecture, as an inspiration and booster of the growing awareness that we have to shape the world more sustainably and activate this in practically zero-impact behavior in daily life.
As a historian, Evertjan specializes in the Second World War as a research area. He was a columnist for the magazine Wereld in Oorlog, his first book Jongens van Nederland was published in 2011 by Uitgeverij Unieboek Het Spectrum and he wrote articles for various historical journals, including Historisch Nieuwsblad and Biografie Bulletin. His most recent book Veldgrauw was published in April 2019, an extensive work on the history of Dutch volunteers in German military service. The English version was published in October 2021 by Vernon Press under the title As political soldiers we face Moscow's hordes: Dutch volunteers in the Waffen-SS. Evertjan is also a researcher at National Monument Camp Amersfoort.

'If you calculate the entire life cycle of green hydrogen production and transport, the CO2 gain can be disappointing. But if green hydrogen is produced from very clean electricity and in the region, it can really contribute to emission reductions.'
