Sander van Zijl
Sander van Zijl is Head of Business Development (formerly Head of Special Projects) and has been associated with WindShareFund since 2019. More than 20 years ago, Sander started his career in IT and after a few years made the switch to real estate.
After various real estate courses, he worked for a considerable time in the commercial real estate market for various leading private and institutional investors and property managers in both Germany and the Netherlands. In 2012, Sander started his own company in which he advised and strategically assisted companies, funds and investors in the field of property management, asset management, portfolio management, acquisition and development. The focus was mainly on the retail and office market.Over the past 10 years, sustainability has moved higher and higher on the agenda of companies, funds and investors. Active in real estate management and later as his own entrepreneur, Sander has grown along with the rapid and major developments that the market has gone through to date.
Love and passion for nature is the common thread through Sander's life. As an avid sailor, he feels closely connected to the wind, water and nature. Inspired by his travels through, among other things, Scandinavia and reading various books and studies about modern and sustainable construction and entrepreneurship, Sander increasingly came into contact with like-minded people within his network. Once in contact with WindShareFund, Sander became fascinated by Charles Ratelband's company and vision. "The energy and enthusiasm that we unleash in each other made the choice to join forces almost inevitable. It is wonderful to be able to focus all my energy and entrepreneurship in my work on things that really have a future and viability."
